Obituary for Gerald Lee "Scobie" Shoffner, Jr.

Gerald Lee “Scobie” Shoffner, Jr. – age 63 of Luttrell, passed away suddenly August 31, 2017. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. Scobie was a Union County school bus contractor for 45 years, a talented mechanic and had a passion for Harley Davidson motorcycles and vintage cars.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Marilyn (Moore) Shoffner; daughter, Tyra Kaye Shoffner; father, Gerald L. Shoffner, Sr. Scobie is survived by daughter, Tiffany (Kat) Holden; mother, Barbara Shoffner, sisters, Sandra Greene (Troy) Norman and Pat (Bradley) Lambert; special nephew, Jim (Valerie) Greene; a host of nieces and nephews; special great nephews, Kenny Greene and Gavin Thomas; great niece, Charleigh Rae Thomas; sisters-in-law, Dionne (Keith) Nease and Myra (David) Hall; and a host of loving friends.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Saturday, September 2, 2017 in the Trinity Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral will follow at 8:00 p.m. with Reverend Richie Turner and Reverend Gary Beeler officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:00 a.m., Sunday, September 3, 2017 at Trinity Funeral Home to go in procession to Booker Cemetery, Luttrell, for an 11 a.m. interment service.
