Obituary for George Allen Savage

George Allen  Savage
George Allen Savage – age 76 of Luttrell, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on May 29, 2017 at 7:11 a.m. at his home surrounded by his loving family. He attended New Pleasant Gap Baptist Church and was an ordained Deacon for 31 years. George was employed for 29 years with Dempster Systems and was a current employee of Trinity Funeral Home. George had a love for softball with many remembering him for his years of coaching his softball teams, Tater Valley and Savage Construction.

George is preceded in death by his parents, George Harvey and Anna Mae “Doll” Savage; brother, Johnny C. Savage; sisters, Gladys “Sis” Scott and Ellen June Savage and Helen (Savage) Jones; grandson, Mark “Brandon” Massengile; great grandson, Kaden “Kade” Beau Massengile; father and mother-in-law, Coy and Velma Tharp; and brothers-in-law, Michael “Mike” Tharp and Kenneth Williams. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Norma Fay (Tharp) Savage; daughters and sons-in-law that loved him dearly, Connie and Mike Inklebarger, Carolyn and Mark Massengile and Karen and Richard Worley; grandchildren, Leslie Inklebarger (Travis) Patterson, Michael (Bri) Inklebarger, Blake (Rachel) Massengile, Bradley (Hope) Massengile, Tyler (Hanna) Williams and Bryce Williams; great grandchildren, Austin, Paxton and Bella Barnes, Cole and Blakelynn Massengile, Linden and Miles Inklebarger and Layla and Jackson Patterson; brothers Earl, Jerry, Paul, Harold, Richard and Bobby Savage; sisters, Faye Williams, Brenda Jessee and Linda Leonard; and a host of family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 31, 2017 in the Trinity Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service will be held June, 1, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Trinity Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Leonard Goin and Reverend Jerry Tharp officiating. Interment to follow in George H. Savage Family Cemetery. Pallbearers will be George’s grandsons and sons-in-law. Honorary pallbearers will be his brothers and the employees of Trinity Funeral Home.
