Linda E. Shelton – age 68 of Washburn, went home to be with the Lord on April 28, 2017. Linda was a member of Mount Eager Baptist Church. She was a retired employee of the Grainger County School System.

Linda is preceded in death by infant son, David Ray Shelton, Jr.; parents, Albert and Lucy Bates; sisters, Daisy Lee Bates and Mary Anna Whitt; sister-in-law, Maude Harrell; and brother-in-law, James Shelton. She is survived by husband of 50 years, David Shelton, Sr.; sister, Wilma Merritt; brother, Robert (Mary Jo) Bates; sisters-in-law Virginia Holt, Mary (Jeff) Arrington, Sharon (Ronnie) Lay, Mae (David) Maness, Dotty Shelton, Doris (Robert) Dukes, and Connie (Mark) Brogden; brothers-in-law, Paul (Faye) Shelton, Leroy Shelton, Ralph (Linda) Shelton, and Benny (Donna) Shelton; special nieces and nephews, Donel (Haley) Shelton, Casey Shelton, Justin (Lindsey) Stallings and Jason (Mandy) Stallings; and a host of friends and relatives.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Sunday, April 30, 2017 in the Trinity Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service to follow at 7:00 p.m. with Reverend Gary Donahue and Reverend Chuck Huskey officiating. Family and friends will meet at 12:45 p.m., Monday, May 1, 2017 at Trinity Funeral Home to go in procession to Needham Cemetery in Washburn for a 2:00 p.m. interment service.
