Obituary for Mackie Laws Cooke

Mackie (Laws) Cooke – age 80 of Maynardville, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2017. She was a lifelong member of Little Valley Baptist Church. Mackie was a retired employee of Union County where she served under former County Executive, Von Richardson.

Mackie is preceded in death by her husband, Lynn Cooke; parents, Charlie and Roma (Jessee) Laws; daughter-in-law, Denise Cooke, brother, Swan Laws; sisters, Louise Richardson and Jewell Humphrey. She is survived by sons, Shane and Clint Cooke; special grandson, Jacob Cooke; sister, Joyce Laws; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Angela Brock and Rhonda Johnson; and many other friends and family. Mackie was loved by all.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 16, 2017 in the Trinity Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service to immediately follow with Reverend Terry West officiating. Family and friends will meet at 12:15 p.m., Friday, March 17, 2017 at Trinity Funeral Home to go in procession to Big Barren Cemetery for a 1:00 p.m. interment service. Pallbearers, Jacob Cooke, Cody Miller, Rudy Richardson, Wendall Padgett, Ashley Moore, Joseph Houser and Von Richardson.
