Obituary for Harley Eugene Acuff

Harley Eugene Acuff – age 75 of Corryton, a loving husband, father, and grandfather went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 3, 2017. Harley was a Deacon and choir leader of Ailor Dale Missionary Baptist Church. He was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed his church, singing and enjoyed people most of all.

Harley is preceded in death by his mother, Anglee (Acuff) Zachary; father, Albert Thomas; brother, Donald Ray Zachary. He is survived by the love of his life of 54 years, Shirley Acuff; sons, Jeff Hundley of Powder Springs and Jerry (Tobey Nelson) Acuff of Washburn; daughter, Teresa (Floyd) Bailey of Maynardville; grandchildren, Jessica (Roy) Smith, Eric (Kara) Hundley, Quincy (Amanda Harmon) Arnwine, Whitney (Skete) Goins, Gibson Bailey, Danny Nelson, Dyllen Fagg; great grandchildren, Colbey and Madison Smith, Chloe Hundley, Bailee Arnwine, Caleb and Emma Goins; brothers, James and Robert Zachary; sisters, Mary Zachary, Virginia (Charles) Collins and Diane Atkins; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. James Hurst and staff, Dr. Hannah and staff, nurses on the 12th floor, the Infusion Lab staff and the Critical Care staff of U. T. Hospital.

The family will receive friends, Sunday, March 5, 2017 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Trinity Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service to immediate follow with Reverend Adam Nicley and Reverend Ronnie Horner officiating. Family and friends will meet at Trinity Funeral Home Monday, March 6, 2017 at 12:45 p.m. to go in procession to Doyle Wayne Needham Cemetery in Powder Springs for a 2:00 p.m. interment service. Full military honors will be conducted by Tri County Veterans Honor Guard.
