Walter Jones, Jr. – age 78 of Harrogate, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 30, 2016. Walter was a member of the Church of Christ. He was a charter member of the Wilderness Road Kiwanis in Harrogate and a retired member of the Ironworkers Local #426. He was the founder and owner of The Oasis Pizza Palace in Harrogate. He was an avid fisherman, Kentucky Basketball fan and father to JoJo, the bird.

Walter is survived by his wife, Barbara Jones; mother of his children, Patty Jones; daughter, LuAnn (Greg) Thomas; son, Lee Jones; grand-daughter, Shelly (Matt) Laux; grandsons, Justin (Jaime) Jones, Will (Taylor) Thomas, Gus (Jessica) Thomas, Caleb (Jenna) Jones and Jack Jones; sisters, Wilma VanHoose, Geraldine (Gene) Ramey; brother, Casey Jones; ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews; step-daughter, Shannon (Mike) Kurowski; step-son, Jason (Jynnifer) Russell; several step—grandchildren and one step-great grandchild. The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 4, 2016 in the Trinity Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service to immediately follow at 7:00 p.m. with Minister Tom Miller and Reverend William Boyd Bingham, III officiating. Family and friends will meet at 9:45 a.m., Thursday, May 5, 2016 at Mountain View Cemetery in Harrogate for a 10:00 a.m. interment service.
