Fugate, Thomas Andrew “Tom” – age 86 of Maynardville, passed away on October 17, 2015 at Tennova Residential Hospice of Halls. Tom was born on January 18, 1929 in Mayking, KY to the parents of Ritter and Rufus Fugate. Tom served in the Army during the Korean War and was also a Lincoln Memorial University graduate. Tom was a retired state agent with Continental Insurance with 31 years’ service. He was an avid bass fisherman and a lifelong Kentucky Wildcats fan. Tom was married to the love of his life, Aileen Wilson Fugate, for 61 years. He loved his family with all his heart and had a twinkle in his eye with the mere mention of his grandchildren. Tom is preceded in death by his parents, Ritter and Rufus Fugate. He is survived by his loving wife, Aileen; son, Mark (Missy) Fugate of Maynardville; daughter, Tammye (Mike) Hamilton of Young Harris, GA; brother, Jack (Peggy) Fugate of Longview, WA; grandchildren, Megan Middleton, Ashley (Mitch) Leigh, Cody Hamilton and Drew Fugate; great granddaughter, Emma Middleton; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 21, 2015 in the Trinity Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service to immediately follow at 8:00 p.m. with Reverend Don Thomas officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11:45 a.m., Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Fairview Cemetery in New Tazewell, TN for a 12:00 p.m. interment with full military honors conducted by Tri-County Veterans Honor Guard.
