Northern, Roy Wayne (Wayne) – age 72 of Corryton, went to be with Jesus on December 29, 2013 after a brief illness. Wayne was an avid fisherman and experienced boater and enjoyed life and being with good friends and family. Whenever Wayne was around there was fun to be had by all. Wayne was a truck driver for over 45 years and loved his profession. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Gladys and Raymond Northern; his brother Bobby Northern; and sisters, Kay Stipes and Debbie Vineyard; as well as his beloved mother-in-law, Dorothy McGinley Bennett. Wayne is survived by his loving and devoted wife of fifty years, Julia Bennett Northern; daughter, Julie (Joe) Bond; sons, Bennett (Donna) Northern and Mark (Tammy) Northern; grandchildren, Hannah and Shelby Bond, Jillian Solomon, Corey, Walker and Joey Northern, Brad, Patrick and Kelsey Northern, Seth, Jacob and Caleb(Danielle) Norris; brothers, David (Vera) Northern, Jimmy (Mary) Northern, Paul Northern, Billy (Helen) Northern; and sisters, Terri Northern, Kathy McCroskey, Joyce (Bob) Parker, Lillian Faye Northern, and Betty Ruth Jones. The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 31, 2013 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Fairview Baptist Church, 7424 Fairview Road, Corryton, Tennessee 37721. A celebration of life service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Bryan Wright officiating. Graveside services will be Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the family home in Corryton. Serving as pallbearers; sons and grandsons. Honorary Pallbearers; nephews and all fishing buddies. Wayne greatly cherished his family and extended family and will be deeply missed by all.
