Clarence Marerson  Poteet
Poteet, Clarence M. - Age 81 of Sharps Chapel passed away July 25, 2013 at Willow Ridge Care and Rehabilitation Center. He loved God and his country for which he served. He served his country 37 years in the United States Air Force. Preceded in death by parents, Mode and Cornie Poteet; brothers, Claude, Harold and Elmer Poteet. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Rita Poteet; daughters, Debbie (Dave) Schmalz of Michigan and Donna Poteet of Maynardville; sisters, Mae Dovel and Pauline Pursley of Ohio, brother, Gene Poteet of Ohio; grandchildren, Michael (Sarah) Schmalz and son, Ethan and Amanda (Nick) Hansen; and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves several military friends across the states. The family will receive friends Sunday, July 28, 2013 from 6:00 – 8:00pm in the Trinity Funeral Home Chapel with the funeral service to follow at 8:00pm with Reverend Jimmy Davidson officiating. Interment Monday, July 29, 2013 at 11:30am in East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, John Sevier Highway with full military honors conducted by Tri-County Honor Guard. The family request donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P. O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675 or the Disabled American Veterans of your choice.
